PANJIM: A mysterious mobile text message originating from Spain and claimed to have been sent by a group styled as Al baarak has threatened of two terror attacks in the capital city and coastal belt.
The SMS after its release on Thursday, threatens fatal attacks in Panjim and the coastal belt in August and December respectively.
“Save Your great GOA. SUICIDE BOMB ATTACK IN CAPITAL TOWN 13*2 augest (august)BLOOD FEASTA CARNEVAL (carnival) IN CO(A)STAL BELT 12*2 DECEMBER Stop if y (you) can. Wait for 2msg,” the message supposedly sent by Al_baarak group reads.
The contents of the message has been sent to central intelligence agencies for verification, and the mobile number +34632767153 from which the SMS was sent.
The message was initially received by two journalists and subsequently forwarded to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. Sources told Herald that the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has been intimated about the message. Friday evening police claimed that the SMS was traced to have originated in Spain.
